Pisa, Italy 6/9/16

Pisa was a quick pit stop on our way to Cinque Terre.
We planned to have a couple hours spent in Pisa, and that was plenty of time, considering the doors to the duomo, baptism and cemetery didn't even open until 1:00 and we were there around from 9:30 - 11:30ish.
Pisa is pretty straight forward, they have all the main attractions in one place, "The Field of Miracles" so it makes for an easy quick trip. However, looking at the map it didn't look like that long of a walk but from the train station to the Field of Miracles it took us a good 30 minutes to walk there (luckily we had just enough time otherwise we would have missed our train.)
I must say, the Field of Miracles was just beautiful! Everything was covered in marble and the lawn was seriously PERFECT making the contrast from the grass to the marble breathtaking. Pictures really can't do the tower or the baptistry or the duomo justice, they are huge and beautiful!
We had a little fun with the leaning tower pictures...
These hips don't lie.
Take note to how small all the people are and they are standing right by the tower, does that give you a better idea of how big it is?
We tried taking the leaning tower pictures everywhere, but where we found gave us the best pictures were balancing on the posts along the gate of the main road.
Getting up on it in a skirt was a nice scene, but it made for a great picture!
Holding the tower together.
I love this man so much!!! I wish we could travel the world with no worries of cost, he is seriously the best travel partner. He plans out all the stressful things like getting from place to place, where to stay, things to see, best reviewed restaurants, etc, and he enjoys it...yeah...I'm SOOO LUCKY!
The Baptistry of San Giovanni and the Duomo. Fun fact, the baptistry actually leans too.
For 18 euro one can climb the tower, but due to time and the line we decided to by pass the climb.
Details.
The baptistry, can you see the detail???
The gateway to the cemetery, I wish we would have been able to walk through all these places cause I'm sure they are beautiful but the outside of each was still worth the stop.
Doors and details.
Looking up at the Duomo.
Even the walkways are beautiful. I spy Jeff :)
View of the top of the Duomo.
The field of miracles is situated right by the oldest early medieval city walls. These walls were built in 1155 and are perfectly preserved.

More of the tower, cause how could I not?
Check out that detail and all that marble!
Booty bouncing the tower...that explains the lean.
This is a behind the scenes of everyone's leaning tower of Pisa pictures.

We really enjoyed Pisa and felt we saw everything we really wanted to in our short time there.
It's truly beautiful!
