11 Weeks Pregnant - Cost of IVF & FET

We got our sweet twins their first set of matching jammies! No we don’t know genders yet, but these are adorable for either and we couldn’t resist! We love you babies ❤️❤️
This week has been great! We are feeling overwhelmingly blessed!

We got a new guitar, had a kalamity performance, had a little getaway, and looked over how much we actually spent on IVF and FET so far! I'm feeling less sick than before but still pretty sick, it's just not as constant as it was the last few weeks, so that's really nice!!!

COST BREAKDOWN:
Egg Retrieval + Medications = $13,043.71
Frozen Embryo Transfer + Medications = $4,444.04
BRINGING OUR TOTAL FOR THE WHOLE PROCESS SO FAR TO.................
$17,487.75

That's a lot more than what we initially were hoping to spend but as we got going with everything and seeing how things kept coming and costs kept rising, it was actually less than what I thought we'd end up spending! So there's that to give you a better idea of what to expect as far as cost of IVF and FET!

Thank you for all the love and support, it means more than you know!!!

Pregnancy Week 10 End of IVF Shots

Feeling extremely grateful today!! I’m 9 weeks 4 days, sick as can be, and sooooooo grateful! We got to see the heartbeats of our two babes last Thursday and it was such a comforting and happy day. Infertility takes your anxiety of things going wrong at any moment to a whole new high and makes your efforts so much more calculated and researched.
Every time I hear their hearts I get chills and my heart wants to sing. Thank you for all your love and support during our journey and for encouraging me all along the way, I love you all!
Just casual mirror selfies showing the babies growth so far week by week! The woman’s body is seriously sooooo incredible! So much is taking place week by week in creating these beautiful babies, it literally blows my mind!!! For a long time I disliked my body because I couldn’t get pregnant, I couldn’t even have a regular period. I knew it was wrong to be so hard on myself but I couldn’t help it as I tried everything in my power to be normal. As I grow in size and feel sicker than I have before I love my body more than ever!!! Even when our body doesn’t look how we want or do what we want it’s important to remember to be grateful...I have a healthy body, I get to wake up every day and experience life, I am so blessed! Be kind to your body, be kind to yourself! You are amazing!!! Okay I’m done, goodnight!

We also had our last shot!!!!!! YAY!!!!! Hopefully my backside will gain feeling back haha.
I cannot wait to wake up and not worry about shots, which side to prick, or of I need to order more shots, now I’m just praying my body knows what to do hormonally on it’s own! I've been experiencing a lot of pregnancy symptoms... sickness, achey back, fatigue, mood swings, hunger, etc... and it's been great!!! I've found my sickness cure which is Coke hahaha (for now) so let's just hope it continues to help!

We are looking for ideas on how to do our gender reveal! So if you have any ideas please leave them in a comment below! We will be finding out the genders at our next appointment and we are SOOOO EXCITED!!!!

9 Week Ultrasound

These last two weeks have been hard on the sickness frontier! I've been so sick with the added need for sleep, but I'm figuring out what helps and I'm feeling better! It was such a treat and a relief to have our 9 week ultrasound and to hear and see such strong heartbeats.
Infertility struggles really take your anxiety in pregnancy really high and the days til the next ultrasound can't come fast enough as you worry about EVERYTHING!!!! But so far so good, THANK GOODNESS!!!!
We graduated from @utahfertilitycenter with this pregnancy ❤️ we are so grateful for all the help and support given us during our years of trying! Our nurses down here took wonderful care of us and we will miss them!
So yeah...we officially are done at the fertility clinic with this pregnancy so that was a bittersweet moment, and we will be meeting with our OB this week for our baseline appointment! We are feeling so blessed and excited with each passing day and are so grateful for all the love and support! THANK YOU!!!
Fun spontaneous date night celebrating the end of D Week at my alma mater and Jeff’s current school!! I’m all about free hot dogs and free popcorn 😂😂 and I found a new fav feel good song that will be on my repeat playlist all summer, “Give Me All” by Sammy Johnson, go download, your summer will thank me!!!
#perfect ❤️❤️❤️ that’s what @jefe_hauck sang last night at the Santa Clara pageant as the girls took their final work! He was amazing and so handsome 👌🏼👌🏼 It was a cool opportunity for Jeff

and I love when I get to support him in things he loves!

7 Weeks Pregnant with Twins

The first ultrasound of the twins from finding out we are having twins!!
See the two separate sacs??? That means we are having DI DI twins, which is best case scenario for twins meaning that it is the safest and most optimistic because they each have their own sac and will have their own placentas!

We are loving this journey and feeling so blessed. A few things to note on pregnancy for me so far... no motivation, naps are a must, that sick to my stomach feeling is pretty constant, food never sounds good, Jeff keeps spoon feeding me protein (haha what a good husband,) and I'm getting used to all of it so that's great!!! We are still keeping with the shots; progesterone in oil shot every morning, progesterone suppository at night, estrogen shots Tuesday and Friday evenings, and still taking metformin, baby aspirin, and my prenatal! We are plugging along anxious for our next ultrasound where we get to see the babies again, and praying hard everything keeps progressing normal and healthy!!!!
Thank you for all your love and support! We feel so blessed to have so much love behind us!!!

First Pregnancy Ultrasound...HOW MANY??

I’ve had a weird feeling the last couple days, I don’t know how to explain it really... but I keep having flash backs to beautiful moments and memories in my life that I didn’t realize I held so close! I’ve felt homesick and at home at the same time! And I’ve had random Deja vu (yes pregnancy makes you a little whack 😂) however I believe that Deja Vu are little reminders that you are where you are supposed to be! That is truly how I feel at this point in my life, I’m where I’m supposed to be! I feel overwhelmingly blessed with an amazing husband, such wonderful family, incredible opportunities throughout my life, and so much more!! I sit here and cry as I type this because I just feel so blessed 😂❤️😊 tomorrow I will be 7 weeks and we will have our first ultrasound, life is still stressful and we both have so much on our plate but LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! The lyrics from a song that plays on the radio has been stuck in my head all day and I believe it’s a good reminder to enjoy each day...”I wish somebody would have told me babe,
That some day these will be the good old days...
'Cause someday soon, your whole life's gonna change. You'll miss the magic of the good old days” Okay, I’m done! Goodnight!
...
We had our first pregnancy ultrasound today to see if one or both of the embryos we put in took!!! I am officially seven weeks today and we were anxiously awaiting this appointment!!! Check out the video to find out for yourself, 1 or 2 or 3 or 4, etc. We don't know gender yet (we are waiting the old fashioned way for that, no blood test here,) just how many babies we will be having!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????
I feel like I have been prepared my whole life for this news, I always felt like I had twins so I wasn't surprised at all, I SOMEHOW JUST KNEW!!!!
For a long long time I always had this feeling we would have twins first but through out our infertility journey I’ve felt like a crazy person as I’ve expressed these feelings. To see two babies in our ultrasound didn’t shock me at all, it reassured me that the Lord has a plan for each one of us and is mindful of us! I received tender mercies throughout our journey and I feel so blessed to be where we are now. I can’t wait to be these two beautiful babes mom ❤️❤️ and I can’t wait to see @jefe_hauck flourish as a dad! That smile on his face hasn’t left since we found out! Thank you all for the love and support ❤️

5 Weeks Pregnant

This week I feel "pregnant" but it's not necessarily what I thought it would feel like. Symptoms I've experienced thus far: (and of course because I've been analyzing my body for the last few months through the IVF process I am probably noticing things that other people might not even notice or experience yet) major fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, unsettled stomach (my stomach just always feels sick,) acid reflux, freezing and then hot, and good ole cravings and major food turn offs, but mostly just food aversions.
Jeff has been working like crazy on our backyard and it is truly looking GORGEOUS!!! He amazes me with how hard he works and how he sticks with a project til the end with really no distractions. I wish I could be more like that.
We feel so blessed to be to the stage we are at!!!! We had our second HCG Beta test on day 17 post transfer and my levels were at 3,705 so we are stoked about that!!! That number is pretty high so we are wondering if both took but of course the internet doesn't have any answers hahaha and everyone is so different so you can't really tell from their numbers, so we will see!

4 Weeks Pregnant

When we found out IVF was successful and we were pregnant, we found out that we are 4 WEEKS pregnant! It still feels surreal and because I have never been in this position I don't think it has really sunk in yet that I AM PREGNANT!
I downloaded a couple different pregnancy tracking apps but The Bump and Ovia Pregnancy are my favorite and here is what's going on in week 4: How’s Baby? Missing your little blastocyst? Baby is now as big as a poppyseed, and has entered the embryonic stage of the pregnancy. The placenta is also starting to form, spreading its roots into your uterine wall, and will be quite skilled in its task of transporting vital materials such as oxygen and food by the end of the week. For now, while the placenta settles in and develops, Baby is being nourished by the yolk sac from your egg, and the placenta is busy reaching out and making a connection with your blood supply. Because it’s making that connection, this is when anything in your bloodstream starts to get a direct line to your poppyseed-sized Baby. By now the neural tube, which sprouts to become the brain and spinal cord, is forming, and the amniotic sac and fluid, in which Baby will live for the next eight months, is present. Baby also has three “germ” layers: the endoderm, which becomes her lungs and most of the vital organs; the mesoderm, which will grow into the heart and skeleton; and the ectoderm, which makes up the nervous system. How’s mom? Feeling the heat yet? Not literally - if you’re going to have hot flashes, chances are they won’t hit for at least a few more weeks. By the fourth week of pregnancy, though, even many women who are not trying to conceive have the inkling that they are pregnant, whether due to bloating caused by the hormone progesterone, mild discomfort in the form of implanting in your uterus, or some other sensation. For most women, nausea and vomiting are still a bit down the road at this point, but the science experiment taking place inside of you is already wreaking hormonal havoc, and you may experience mood swings as a result - think of it as your first adventure in the emotional rollercoaster that is parenting! The increase in estrogen and progesterone is also doing a number to reduce the speed with which your digestive system works, in an effort to maximize nutrient absorption and most effectively supply and nurture your growing baby. You may experience aversions to certain foods as a result, but don’t worry, this is perfectly normal. The scientific reasoning around food aversions during pregnancy is murky, but the two leading schools of thought surrounding aversions in early pregnancy are that either the nausea is triggered by the hCG produced by Baby’s placenta, which will nourish and protect her throughout your pregnancy, or that aversions are your body’s way of limiting you from eating things that will be bad for Baby’s development. Whichever one is true, just remember that many side effects are nature's way of keeping both you and your baby healthy.
WE ARE BEYOND THE MOON EXCITED and can't believe THIS IS REAL LIFE! Thank you for all the love and support! It means the world to us!

IVF FET Results - PREGNANT???

Well it's the moment we've worked so hard for these last few months... did it work? Am I pregnant? If it didn't, am I going to be okay? Did I do everything right? Watch and find out...

DRUMROLL....
Before the blood test I took multiple pregnancy tests...even though they tell you not to...WHOOPS haha. But I'm so glad I did! The very first one I took at day 4 and it was negative, then I took another March 6th and that is when I got my first positive!!!!
6:00 am bed head but SOOO EXCITED!
 This is really happening!
 I love him!
This really was the very first positive test I had ever gotten and I had taken hundreds before!
Well we couldn't contain our excitement so we went and surprised our family the night before the blood test so none of them expected it!!
Jeff came up with the cute riddle!  We have literally taken sooooo many pregnancy tests over the last 5 years and every time I “felt” pregnant, so I’d take more tests. It’s a sad cycle but anyone struggling with infertility can relate. So we thought this little riddle was genius, and it really was my first positive EVER!!!!

WE ARE ECSTATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for all the love and support!!!!!!
We keep pinching ourselves and asking each other if this is real life??

Post FET Transfer Pregnancy Symptoms

Everyone asks me if I "feel" pregnant and my response is yes? My body is being pumped with progesterone and estrogen (pregnancy hormones) and my mind is playing mind games so yes I think I might feel kinda pregnant but HOW CAN I TELL?

Luckily I've got Jeff who caters to me and makes me feel like I'm not crazy. I COULD NOT DO ALL THIS WITHOUT HIM! He is so sweet and tender and always trying to make me as comfortable as possible. I hit the husband JACKPOT!

We are just continuing on in the routine of shots and pills and keeping our hopes high!!! We will be announcing whether IVF worked for us this time or not so make sure you subscribe to find out! Thank you for all the love and support!!!

IVF Sacrifices & One Week Post FET

In IVF I've learned that it requires sacrifices, and for me I've had to step away from Kalamity, something I love so much, for what I thought was a temporary leave but it turned into a permanent leave when my aunt and her husband got a job opportunity that is taking them to Provo! Of course I'm so excited for them, but I'm sad and I will miss them and kalamity!
I had to miss my first Kalamity concert EVER and although it was wonderful to be able to watch it on Facebook live (thank you technology,) it was so hard to just watch and not even be able to be there.

I've been plugging along with the routine of shots and pills all in hopes of PREGNANCY. The wait is torturous and my mind keeps wandering there (there being is it going to work, am I doing something wrong, should I do that, should I eat that, be careful, please work, etc.)
I had a crazy and scary dream last night keeping me from sleeping. They are becoming a regular thing...hopefully that's an early early pregnancy symptom!!! FINGERS CROSSED! Anyway, when morning came I greeted it with open arms and a big smile! We truly live in a beautiful place!

WE WANT THIS TO WORK SO BADLY, IT'S CONSUMING! But we trust in the Lord's plan for us and have hope!!!! We are doing good and looking forward with faith!

IVF Frozen Embryo Transfer Prep

For the last three weeks leading up to this upcoming week (YAY...FINALLY) I've been prepping for the FET, frozen embryo transfer, with Estradiol shots, metformin, baby aspirin, prenatals, and this last week adding the progesterone in oil shots. All was good up until the progesterone shots...YUCK!!!! I've been a psycho since I started them and my back side is SO SORE! I break down after most progesterone shots, but Jeff just holds me and tells me how strong I am, I COULD NOT DO THIS WITHOUT HIM!
It snowed here and the flurry was refreshing and a little bit of a representation of me lately!
We really enjoyed playing in it, since we never get snow in STG!

The parade of homes has been going on and we were able to go check it out with my parents. It's such a treat to go and see beautiful homes and dream!
 I love him!
In our waiting game we have gained more strength and courage for what is ahead and feel ready to take it all on, whatever it is!!! Anyway, this video is showcasing all the prep for the FET which is this upcoming TUESDAY! I'm so excited and SOOO nervous, but I have faith in the Lord's plan for me and Jeff and I know that regardless He loves us both!
