Wedding Finals!

WOW....THIS WEEK HAS BEEN INSANE!
But awesome, of course!!!
I am officially on SUMMER BREAK!!! Hallelujah!
And we celebrated a beautiful wedding!!!!
This is just a recap of the week, a detailed post full of details and pictures will be coming shortly!
We celebrated Cinco De Mayo with free Cafe Rio. MMMMM.
Then these two took out their endowments on Wednesday and it was a beautiful occasion.
I'm SOOO proud of them!
Thursday and Friday we were in full wedding prep swing.
But we are never too busy for a little ladder lovin'
Before I knew it it was WEDDING DAY... And Cec was getting ready to go and be sealed to her love!
One thing I love about Cec is how giving she is and how she is always willing to do others make up and hair, even on her special day :)
The sealing was beautiful! It's always an amazing feeling to look around at all the ones you love in the celestial room, it truly feels like heaven and reminds me of how heaven will be.
While waiting for the bride and groom to come out I couldn't help but take this picture of this GORGEOUS baby, Alma Ty. (Seriously, I want one so bad! And I hope mine are as cute as him!)
Introducing "THE ORPINELAS" :)
Then they came out and I rushed in for the first hug, before taking pictures of everyone else's hug! My mom captured this moment for me, and it is one that I will cherish forever.
Both Angel's and Cecilee's side and all their friends all together for a picture, Trevor even made it :)
They really are a match made in heaven, they compliment each other so well and both have hilarious personalities.
They made such a handsome couple and they both were glowing.
I was worried that the weather was either going to be rainy or too sunny for pictures, but it was absolutely perfect!!!
Then it was time to party at the reception! Here is just a quick picture I snapped with my phone of all the decor!
Like I said, all the details are coming but here is just a recap of what a wonderful day it was. We were missing Trevor, Jaden, my Horlacher grandparents, and grandpa Ah Quin and although they couldn't be there with us they were not forgotten. I am so grateful for each of them and the wonderful examples they are of service and devotion.
"She is silly, organized, beautiful, thoughtful, emotional, outgoing, positive, and just simply amazing! I literally and metaphorically would not be here or be who I am today without her. She's my mom, best friend, and role model. I love you mom! Happy mothers day! You are simply the best!"

Then Sunday was MOTHER'S DAY and we got to talk to Trevor!
I love him so much and miss him, but I know he is doing what he should be and I am so proud of him. Mother's day was a great day spent with both my mom and my mother-in-law and talking to Trevor made me cry, but I am grateful for mothers and the blessing that they are in our lives!

I know this is a little crazy, but I just wanted to get a little post up about all the excitement that took place this week! I love my life and I am so blessed and I know it!

Finals & Wedding week eve.

Finals week and wedding week!!!
This is a week I've been waiting for all year... so next week's blog post should be really action packed!!!
Anyway, here is this past week's fun...
Sometimes I try to be a good wife and have a nice lunch ready for Jeff when he gets home. This was my teriyaki, raspberry chipotle grilled chicken, pasta shells and italian salad.
MMM :)
Grocery shopping with my mom and Grandma!
After we were all done shopping and eating lunch, my grandma grabs an empty cart and says, "Love you baby. I'm going to go pretend to shop some more to sell the rest of my Kycie tickets." Keep in mind she had already sold 20 in the hour long shopping we had previously done.
This lady is hilarious and inspiring, she is always willing to help others and to give her best at all she does. She is truly amazing!
Saturday was Cec's friend and neighborhood bridal shower and we had Angel's family make a last minute trip to be there. It was awesome to meet them and to have them there for showering Cec!
My mom and Cec decorated so cute!
My cute sister-in-laws made their appearance! I've been so blessed with such amazing sisters, both through birth and through marriage!
My favorite gift of the day! Rainy day fund!
Saturday was busy with practice, shower, and Kali's 7th birthday party. On our way home I just soaked up the gorgeous sunset. This world is amazing and it's little tender mercies like these that strengthen my faith and my hope.
Sundays are always an adventure...

"Armies of helium" - Emmett
"How do you think Lehi felt after his vision? ... WIERD." -Jerzi
"I would take my bunny wrapped in a carpet." -Abby

Then Angel got the Melchizedek priesthood Sunday afternoon! It's so amazing to see him make his way through learning and covenants. I can't wait to see both Cec and Angel in the temple this upcoming Wednesday.
Our KISSES FOR KYCIE benefit concert is coming up!!! May 15th at Dixie High school!!!! I'm selling tickets for $5 this week and ALL of the money from our ticket sales, the dinner, bake sale and silent auction will be going to Kycie!!! If you would like to buy a ticket (or you aren't able to come but want to still support and donate) please message me and I will come to you!!! THANK YOU!!!

I'm a little all over the place this week but it's all in preparation for this upcoming week!
Can't wait!

Glimpse at us.

This week was all kinds of crazy!!!
Six photo sessions in one week (three of them in one day), wedding preparation, and school wrapping up all total CRAZY CAM.
Yeah, I've been running around constantly and I'm still trying to catch up.
Anyway, in the midst of all the craziness, I still make sure to take time to enjoy life...
Hence the waffles and a little photo session for us.
I was craving Waffle Bliss all week so I looked up a recipe and decided to make my own. I really enjoy cooking and baking but don't always have the time to try new things, so I decided I'd make a little time and try something new. They turned out great, as far as I'm concerned, and I dressed them with peanut butter, crunchy cookie butter, syrup, whip cream, and strawberries (what wouldn't taste great with all those yummy toppings???)
Here's the recipe I followed:

prep time: 4 hours
cook time: 5 minutes
yield: 10 waffles
serving size: 1 waffle
waffle love is an incredibly popular waffle truck in utah and now you can make their famous liege waffles from home!
ingredients
  • 3/4 cup whole milk, scalded and cooled to warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons water, warmed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 large eggs, lightly whisked
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2-1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups belgian pearl sugar (we buy ours from orson gygi)
instructions
  1. add the 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar to the milk and water and add the yeast, stirring to combine. allow the yeast to proof, or get foamy and puffy.
  2. in a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars. add the eggs, honey and vanilla. stir together and add the yeast mixture. place in a standing mixer with the dough hook and add 2 cups of flour. mix until the dough is thoroughly incorporated, and add the remaining flour, cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for up to 4 hours on the counter, or up to 24 hours covered with plastic wrap in the fridge. the dough will need to sit on the counter and come back to room temperature to use. then punch down and knead in the pearl sugar. separate into 8 to 10 balls and place on a hot, greased waffle iron. cook until golden brown and serve with biscoff, whipped cream and fresh berries.
notes
need to skimp on the rise time? no biggie, though you will lose some of that awesome flavor.
Cec has been learning about photography and asked if she could take pictures of us! Of course I said, YES, because I believe you can never have too many pictures.
For her second photo shoot I'd say she did pretty dang good!
We decided to capture our every day attire and every day life.
If you know us, you know that I am often found with a plaid shirt around my waist...
...and Jeff in his favorite band t-shirts.
Jeff is always singing wherever he goes and plays the guitar any chance he gets.
We are always laughing and goofing around.
And we are just straight up goobers! So in capturing all of those things Cec did awesome!!!
Be prepared to see more, these are just a few!
Speaking of Cec, we have been wedding crafting (little last minute) all week as well and we are down to 12 DAYS!!! WHAT???? Where does time go???? Anyway, we are having an open house bridal shower that EVERYONE is invited to! We will just be giving her some last minute advise, embarrassing her with some sexy lingerie, and calming some last minute stressors!
We hope to see you all there!

Hello. Goodbye. See you later.

It's been a CRAZY week, and the craziness is just going to continue!
There's been a lot of hellos, goodbyes, and see you laters with family all week long.
Here are the pictures of some special moments of this awesome week...
Jeff's cousin Jake got home from his mission Thursday evening! It's so crazy to think that it has been two years and he home. Brad gets home this upcoming Wednesday and we are all anxious with excitement!!!
The first 40 orders of Kalamity's Kycie shirts from the online store went out! It only took me two days to get them sorted and processed!!!
Friday we finally tried Bombay Cafe, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this restaurant so I had high expectations and I must say...they met all of them and maybe even exceeded them! It was GOOD! We ordered the Coconut Chicken Curry and I could have eaten 10 plates it was that good.
Friday we also purchased our first gun. Jeff was ecstatic and we feel ready for anything (haha)!
Saturday was Cecilee's family bridal shower! We scheduled this shower so that my grandma Horlacher and all of the Horlacher side could be there since they were up for the farewell! My grandma Ah Quin had this adorable tres leches cake made in honor of the bride; it reads, "Horlacher Today Orpinela For Eternity."
I was running around like a crazy person all morning going from dance to the shower so I forgot my camera :( but my mom was able to capture these cute moments!
Saturday night my Horlacher grandparents took the whole family to dinner at Chuck-A-Rama then I headed to Kalamity's half time performance.
Sunday morning came extra fast (especially with daylight savings). We got to the chapel and listened to beautiful talks given by my grandparents. The spirit was so strong and you could see the excitement in their countenance! They are so ready and although I miss them a lot already, they are going to be AMAZING missionaries in Nauvoo, Illinois.
Everyone that came to listen to their farewell address and show their support. Yeah, it was basically the whole congregation haha. I always tease my grandparent that they are social butterflies, being in their ward the last year I have witnessed it first hand! Everyone LOVES them and everyone wants to be their friends because they make everyone feel loved, I feel blessed to have examples of love like them in my life.
My grandma and grandpa Horlacher's posterity (and legacy, as my grandpa Ah Quin would say.) All their kids and grandkids (minus Trevor).
This morning I got home from dance and I looked in the back where they live and their lights were off and their truck was gone, they were off on their mission. I couldn't help but cry because this last year being their neighbor, their renter, their ward member, their grand-daughter, and friend has been a really rewarding experience. They are some of the most genuine and loveable people you will ever meet! This next 18 months I'm going to miss my grandpa's jokes and contagious laugh, and my grandma's sweet voice as she tells my grandpa (Rich) what needs to be done.
Aren't they adorable? :)
I love my sister, she's such a babe! I couldn't help but take her picture with her cute dress that had a purple blossom pattern and all the purple blossom trees.
Best Friends FOREVER!!! And ever, and ever, and ever!!!!
After the AWESOME sacrament meeting we all headed to my parent's house for a lovely luncheon! It was so nice to see so many faces and visit with family and friends we haven't seen in a long time.
Later that evening, after my grandparents had been set apart, we headed to their home to spend some last minute time with them. They were literally glowing and smiling from ear to ear. They were ready to go and looked like they were floating! I'm so excited to hear all their stories and even more excited to go visit them!

It was a really special week full of family, parties, and missionaries.
I am so grateful for the plan of happiness and for the opportunity we have to live this life with family.
Family truly is the most sacred unit and those relationships carry through all generations of time and life. Make your family relationships count, do everything you can to develop intimate relationships with your family.
That's something you will NEVER regret!

Mission calls and baby blessings.

This last week was an exciting and eventful week!
Amy got her mission call and Hudson and Alma Ty both were blessed.
It's such an exciting stage for both of our families with missions, babies, and weddings.
We are richly blessed!
She was called to the Hermosillo, Mexico mission and reports to the Mexico MTC June 24th! That’s just two hours north of where Trevor is!!! :)
Hudson was blessed!
Alma Ty was blessed!
And yes, I wore two different outfits to each blessing. I HAVE A PROBLEM.
I love my family!
Here is Angel and Cecilee's save the date video that I put together from their engagement photo shoot!
Amy's mission call opening! :)
My cute elder :) I love that smile!
